Odney is seeking a Public Affairs Intern

Public Affairs Intern
Would you like the chance to learn more about how the North Dakota State Legislature works?  The Odney Public Affairs Internship will provide paid administrative support to the Public Affairs Team at Odney.  The position is limited to one intern and the selection process is competitive.
The Odney Public Affairs Intern will work under the direction of the Odney Public Affairs Team consisting of Shane Goettle, Don Larson and Lacee Anderson. The intern will perform a variety of administrative tasks and have the opportunity to observe the North Dakota 2019 Legislature firsthand. We are searching for college-age undergraduates or post-graduate students (such as law students).
The Odney Public Affairs Intern will work out of the Odney office located at 117 West Front Ave, Bismarck, North Dakota.  Most of the intern’s time will be spent at the North Dakota Capitol building from the commencement of the 2019 Legislative Session until its adjournment. 
By observing the North Dakota Legislature firsthand, the intern will develop political awareness and job skills.
The intern will provide administrative lobbying assistance to the Odney Public Affairs team, attend legislative hearings, track bills, assist in planning events, interface with Odney clients, help lobby legislators on a variety of issues for Odney clients, and meet regularly with the Odney Public Affairs Team. The intern must be flexible in his or her expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:
·         Undergraduate standing (waivable if applicant demonstrates a solid political resume and interest in public policy).
